Thank you for your interest in the Valera Bible Society. I am currently preaching the gospel in Colombia. We went into the amazon jungle and 4 souls were converted. I will be returning next week after I preach a Bible conference in Medellín.
Our plans are to definitely put out the Ruckman reference Bible in Spanish. It will be a 5 year project (the English project took just as long). But it is something that we know must be done. Obviously we need all the help that we can get.
We thank the Lord for the privilege to be able to put Dr. Ruckman's material in Spanish. We currently have about 9 of his publications in Spanish. We have another 15 already translated but neither the funds nor the equipment to bring them to fruition.
However, recently a brother in Michigan offered to help us print the Vol. 1 of the church history book. But we will have to bind it. We printed 2500 of Manuscript Evidence and it cost $5000. That was $2.00 per book. The same printer wants to charge us $12000 for the vol. 1 church history. We could barely come up with the $500 for the Manuscript Evidence.
Brother, I can not begin to tell you the impact that Doc's stuff has on these people in Spanish. I have seen Catholics converted to Christ. I have seen Presbyterians drop their Calvinism. It is amazing.
We appreciate all the help we can get. There is a man in Pensacola that can help you, who already prints our tracts. He is our man if you want to buy a press.
We would be happy to receive your visit. We have dreams and I see that you share our vision. We thank God for the little bit that we have accomplished but there is so much to be done. Pray for us!

I think that this might be a good idea. At least I am not against it. I would need you to attend the Valera Bible Conf. in March however to make it official. I checked with Hammond and pastors school doesn't start until after the final day of the conference. You could flight direct from Miami to chicago Monday morning and you could attend both. It would be a busy 2 weeks but then again, you are still a young whipper-snapper, no?

I am as well excited about us working together. I am sure that the devil is not happy. I appreciate your vision for Spanish Baptist Press and I believe our two ministries can work hand in glove. That is actually the type of relationship I have at this time with Marco Perez and his organization SAMMS (South American Missions).
1. We are perfectly willing to give you an unlimited license to be able to market the audio 1865 once it is finished.
2. We will give you license as well to market the printed material.
3. I am not 100% sure that the prices are negotiable, though I myself am willing to bend on that. Here is the problem: If Ruckman offers the English book at $20 and we offer the Spanish at $15...well that would be ok. But then he would have to sell it at $15 as well. Which means a lot of extra energy spent keeping up with the differences in price. It seems much simpler to keep all the prices the same across the board. I am willing however to bend on this, as I have already stated. I just need to know how to make it work with out any complications. I don't think it would be a good idea for any of us to undercut the other. We have to have a fixed price agreement. If you have any ideas to make this work let me know.
4. Please pray for me to be able to convince the powers that be to allow for the Spanish material to be offered on line in a PDF format.
VBS. You bring some skills and knowledge and of course resources to the table. However, of course we would need loyalty, not to us, but to the word of God in Spanish (Valera1865) and to the vision of the VBS (which you will find laid out in 3 points in our bylaws). If you can make that type of commitment I would have no problem presenting you as a board member.
5. I agree with you that digital media is not only the wave of the future but also probably the most efficient way to get the material into the hands of latinos in Latin America. Again, pray that I can get this part of the contract renegotiated. It would help if you could give me some technical details as to why this would be beneficial to the Latin population.
6. I believe that your original idea is good. After the materials are payed for, we split them down the middle and whatever funds are received from the bookstore would also be split 50/50.

My biggest concern with our current arrangement is that I would be operating outside of your license with Brother
Ruckman unless I have a sublicense or am a member of VBS. I'm sure you know that already.
I just don't want to burn bridges with Bible Baptist Boosktore over trying to do good and help VBS out.

there's a place down the street...i think it's called an 'efficiency' that rents rooms with their own kitchen for $145/week.
If you're bringing a large group I can maybe see if you guys can get a good deal there as a group.
I can lend you my suv that seats 6-7 while you're here and drive my other car...the efficiency place is probably a mile away from the church.

I spoke to brother Vince and I think I'll have him do the site.
I'm trying tie up loose ends with the last guy...looks like he took a template and did 2 hours of work and wants 2 grand for that...go figure...just refer him back to me if he emails you.
As far as constant contact...I really don't have much personal use for it at this time.
I'm praying the Lord would give me the job -with your help and endorsement =0)- of doing a Spanish Ad Lib bible and just a standard voice over one (and maybe Revelation with the 1865 on DVD in Spanish).
If I can do any of those or all three this year plus school, I would count that as the most blessed year
of my Christian life thus far...please pray for that.
As far as my personal use of constant contact, I really don't have much use for it now...maybe just send out one Newsletter to introduce the site and follow up newsletters when products come out or new site features...basically promote the site and it's contents and promote/endorse vbs et al.
I'm praying for a newsletter later on 'The voice of one crying out in the wilderness' but even if the Lord grants that it would be down the road.

The church is is finished as far as the revision work. I have been working on the 18 color maps, which is a very tedious and time consuming chore. Then the lay out and off to the printer. Amen. I am sending your mom the Bibles and other literature ASAP. The church history in Spanish won't be ready for at least another 2 months. You just don't know how difficult it is to produce something like that. We have bought the papera and the rings for binding and have everything ready to go. I just finished this past Monday the final revision. If you take a look at the church history in English you will notice that there are 18 maps. I have not yet translated all of those. But I did do the first 5 maps and that took me 2 days. I is all very tedious. Please pray.
I will be praying for your schooling. I envy you. Oh to be back in Pensacola sitting under Dr. Ruckman. But the Lord has other plans....

What does your schedule look like for the blowout.

There's a really nice Thai food place down about a mile from here on nine mile..maybe you're familiar
with it.
I also wanted to maybe just before you talk to brother Forte give you a list of stuff that would be great to get rights to.
I'm writing all my class notes in Spanish on a digital tablet, so it's instant Spanish Bible Institute...would be nice to have permission to use my class notes for an online bible institute in Spanish...would go well with the Spanish Ruckman Textbooks.
Anyway, everything is great down here...I feel closer to the Lord than I've ever been. Some trials and tribulation but that's expected. Can't believe that on top of everything He is allowing me to do, I get to go to heaven after that....Amazing!!!

Amen! I'm in Puerto Cortés, Honduras. Last night I preached in a church that has a piece of land and no building. We were all seated in the mud with the stars for our roof. I preached on hell.
I was in Tegucigalpa the other day and I lead the father of a woman in my church in Miami to the Lord. He had Mary and the pope hanging on his wall and as the silently watched I led this 82 year old lost Catholica to renounce his dead church and recieve Christ. He kneeled with me and with tears did so.
I wish you could be here but then again, I envy you getting to sit and listen to the greatest Bible teacher on planet earth. I am looking forward to seeing you at the blowout and you can plan for us to go to the Thai restaurant with you on Friday. Then on Saturday we will all (including you) go over to Bro. Clevenger's house.
The other day you said that you considered us to be your sending church. When you come in March we will recieve you as a member, with joy. I only ask that you complete your years at PBI and do your best to stay close to the Lord. I have your back, to the best of my ability. Keep your nose clean, your head down and PRAY! I know the Lord will bless your time there.
We have the same vision and my prayer is that the Lord will help us fight to fulfill that vision until His return.

I need a head count for 02/19 dinner. I set it for 5-6pm but they're flexible...the place does not get too busy
Fridays...they have a separate area where they can sit us all in a long table but there is a bar about 80 feet
from where we are seated. The guy said they don't have a happy hour and it's more for the people dining in but if this is a problem, we can try golden corral or something like that...here's a link to the place: www.jasminefusion.com
Golden corral is just a buffet and they have steaks after 4pm...the other place would be a sit down with appetizers, choices of soup/salad and 4 choices of entres (chicken, beef, shrimp, whatever) and desert.
The price difference between golden corral and the thai place is less than $2/person, so either one works...one is all you can eat and the other is much more elegant and the food is really good...I didn't see any idols or anything in the decor either like some asian places are, but whatever...just want to show some love.
Let me know, I need to confirm a reservation in the next week.
The Thai place may be more relaxed and more of a dining experience.

Brother Ruckman made an announcement today -don't know if its factual- but it sounded fantastic!
He said someone put his Revelation video online and that they received over 32,000 emails of people
wanting to know more.
When you go to that punks site, the 'literatura bautista' site, the guy is getting heavy traffic from people that know nothing...imagine how many people the Lord would draw if we had it in Spanish streaming on the web...with a discussion forum for people that Vince or someone else could monitor.
Imagine having streaming radio with a spanish ad lib, real preaching, streaming bible institute hour, etc.
Just imagine what the Lord would do through that. I can't believe God chose us to do this...I just laugh...[]
Brother I don't know if we can just have brother Vince do the whole thing himself...I'll release the domains to him or give him open access to my [] account so he can do whatever he wants.
I'm just so excited but very burdened at the same time...I really feel that if we don't do it now the Lord is just going to give it to someone else that is hungrier and wants to do it now.
I'm pretty busy with classes but I will work all summer (minus 2 weeks vacation) helping or producing the ad lib spanish bible, the mp3 bible, the revelation dvd, etc...but we can take some steps to get it ready.
please pray for brother Forte...he injured himself or his back or something like that...brother Ruckman made the announcement during prayer request time...I have a really good relationship myself with the bookstore people (I'm in there all the time and easily spent 2 grand on stuff...so I was thinking about asking (after the blowout) to see if I can volunteer maybe Friday afternoons for 3-4 hours just to learn the procedure of a printing press, how the machines run and eventually how the whole operation runs.
Brother Vince is a huge blessing, I agree...he is so enthusiastic about Chile and I can tell he's hungry to serve the Lord greatly as well...good things.
I met some guy who knows the Robinsons in Chile and he may come down with me to the valera conference in march (I'll just get double beds where i'm staying if he comes)
he talks to me in Spanish...really cool [] guy, he's graduating this year.

I am hereby notifying you that I am pressing criminal charges for fraud and attempt to defraud with the
Miami District Attorney's office on Monday unless we are able to discuss me getting my investment money back

For the record, I fronted you just under $12,000 US Dollars for us to do business
printing 1865 bibles and Ruckman Materials for which you have exclusive licensing rights

wrote out that does not represent half my return on investment, not even close.
You have over $1800 dollars in apple computer equipment that belongs to me and I demand that you return

I don't think the 250 copies of Church History 1 that you want to give me plus 100 hard back 1865s and 50 vinyl 1865's is half my investment. There is about $25,000 of retail value in the books my money entirely paid to print and I'm not even getting 20% of it according to your 'offer' which you now took back claiming I gave you a gift.
I never gave you one dime as a gift. I didn't give you my life savings for nothing, I'm in the printing business and I wanted a return on my investment and was going to give you half the books and bibles for you to give out, not to make money...you want to keep the $25,000 you'll make with those bibles plus my $10,000 plus my almost $2000 in computer equipment...you're a thief.
No wonder you avoided my calls and emails and no wonder you would not spend 5 minutes with me without wanting to run out...did you really think you could just get away with this? I'm not stupid, I have all of this very well documented...the fact you refuse to give me a copy of our initial signed agreement means nothing, I can prove our agreement and trace it from day one till today.
I will give you 2 options...you said you have about $10 grand in the coffers of the valera bible society.
Give me back my $6250 and either return my apple equipment or pay me the $1815.79 that I paid for it.
Or give me back another $1250 and my apple equipment or $1815.79 plus half the retail value of what will be produced in books, which is about $12,000 retail value, or $6000 wholesale value in inventory.
Even if you honor your agreement -which I doubt you will- I still will break even at best and you will make over $12,000 dollars off my investment.
I need a written response. I believe in the Old Spanish Bible and in the 1865 but I have no interest in doing any kind of business with you and you have lost what would have been a great friend and ally because you have no business ethics and business sense...your decision to outright rob me is shortsighted and I will plead my case with your sending church and missions board and will engage in business litigation if necessary to recover my life savings which you stole, which I wanted to use for the Glory of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
You know how to reach me. I'm going to try to cash the $3750 'refund check' you issued me...where you wrote 'gift' on the description. I never gave you a gift you unscrupulous thief, we had a business deal and I fronted you money for both of us to profit, not for you to steal from me.
How in the world are you going to contend for the Old Spanish Bible if you can't even keep a business deal straight with someone who wanted to bless you with investment money and be your friend.
